16 December 2024 | Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), has announced the first closing of the Allianz Infrastructure Credit Opportunities Fund II (AICOF II). AICOF II is the second vintage fund of the Allianz Resilient Opportunistic Credit strategy. The previous vintage fund, Allianz Resilient Opportunistic Credit Fund, closed to new investments in December 2023 with EUR 455mn in commitments and has been c. 90% deployed or committed to investments. The strategy has raised almost EUR 1bn of commitments into commingled funds from international institutional investors across Europe and Asia so far.
AICOF II, which was launched in June 2024, intends to achieve an attractive risk-adjusted return through infrastructure debt investments that will directly or indirectly be made in senior secured, second lien and subordinated debt. The strategy will invest at different positions in the capital structure depending on their risk profile. AICOF II is an Art 8 SFDR fund, targeting sectors and sub-segments across Energy, Transport, Communication, Environmental and Social.
The first vintage fund of the AROC platform was launched in April 2021 and classified as Art.8 under SFDR in October 2023. The fund with c. 90% of capital deployed or committed to investments has invested across core, core+ and core++ infrastructure in the transport, renewables and digital sectors.
Claus Fintzen, CIO Infrastructure Debt at AllianzGI, said “After over a decade of investing we can now look back on over 150 transactions in more than 20 countries. Against the light of large investments needed to bridge the infrastructure gap and the current interest rate environment we see attractive investment opportunities for institutional investors in building the infrastructure for tomorrow.”
“We are very grateful for the strong interest in the Allianz Infrastructure Credit Opportunities Fund II. With this addition to our infrastructure debt offering, we aim to provide investors with access to the full range of infrastructure debt sectors across the entire capital structure and high yielding return potential.”, says Tom Lees, Senior Portfolio Manager, Infrastructure Debt.
AllianzGI is offering a broad range of investment solutions and manages over EUR 90bn in private markets of which over EUR 50bn are infrastructure assets making Allianz one of the largest infrastructure investors globally.1
