Allianz´s first private debt secondaries fund holds first close at EUR 250mn
- Four months after launch the Allianz Private Debt Secondaries Fund (APDS) for institutional clients holds first close at EUR 250mn
- The APDS aims to build a diversified portfolio across managers, sectors, and geographies with Allianz as significant anchor of the strategy
- The target fund size is EUR 500mn
19 January 2023 Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) today announced the first close of the Allianz Private Debt Secondaries Fund (APDS) at EUR 250mn. The fund was launched in September 2022 and is the first private market secondaries fund of Allianz Group. With the APDS institutional investors can leverage on Allianz´s strong private debt primary and co-investment activities and invest in secondary opportunities targeting the US, Europe, and Asia. The target fund size is EUR 500mn.
As one of the world’s leading private debt investors Allianz insurance portfolios are a major investor of the APDS. The APDS will focus on senior direct lending opportunities, selectively complemented by opportunistic positions with the goal to build a diversified portfolio across managers, sectors, and geographies. The APDS aims to provide its investors with a strong cash yield, an illiquidity premium, high diversification and strong downside protection.

The APDS is managed by the same team as the Allianz Global Diversified Private Debt Fund (AGDPDF) and the Allianz Global Real Estate Debt Opportunities Fund (AGREDO).
